Romeo a 9ft Burmese Python

RomeoRomeo and LeneaThis big guy came to us November 2003, all the way from Silverdale, Washington. He was in a Humane Society who had no capabilities of keeping him. We jumped on the ball rescueing him so that they would not have to euthinize him. He is definitely hungry and therefore like most “Burm’s” are, he is a little grumpy. Burmese Pythons are a very entelligent snake and will let you know when they are not feeling good, getting ready to shed, needing to eat or are just in the mood to be left alone. They are a very docile snake, and don’t mind being around humans as long as they see you as someone who provides them with everything they need. Therefore, this guy doesn’t like us all that much right now. I have handled him SLIGHTLY and have yet to see more aggression than just hissing. He will be halfway housed until we find a suitable home for him.

UPDATE: 2004

Romeo with Veronica and LeneaRomeo taking a napHe is now living with Veronica (www.beautifuldragons.com) We got him out last night. And oh is he a lover! He wouldn’t bite me no matter what I did to him, of course I wasn’t trying to make him, I was just health checking him. I looked in his mouth, his scales, his tail, spurs, the whole bit. He sat with us for probably over an hour. He is about 9ft long and he weighs about 45lbs. He will do GREAT with the Gomez Family!! :)

UPDATE: 2005

Romeo in the kitchenRomeo in the tubHe is now living with a family. This guy has to be one of my favorite stories! During his stay and Veronica’s home he was amazing! He would roam the house with us and open cupboards! He loved to stay in the bathtub, even if there was no water in it, I think only because that is where he was fed! Man was he a laugh though! You would open his cage and he would come right out and follow you around the house just to get the attention! I don’t know how anyone ever gave this guy to the Humane Society. But just think, if they never did, he never would have such an AMAZING home! Good luck “Giant” and good luck to your new owners! Live on in happiness and joy Romeo!
